Building Security and Perimeter Access Control
The Dallas Zoo is an amazing place. Filled with nature and animals from all over the world, it is a local favorite for walks and family outings. The Zoo facility stretches over 106 acres and has multiple entry points for the public as well as staff. The Zoo’s existing security camera and access control was in need of an update that brought added functionality and security.
PBC Technologies designed and installed a security and access control system that fit all of the Zoo’s operational needs. AIPhone Systems were integrated with the Verkada system at staff gates. The system integration was seamless, and the PBC team was able to ensure that all systems worked properly.
The Verkada system was selected due to the flexibility, hybrid cloud capabilities and high-quality picture image. Having a system that can scale was important as well.
Maintaining a Zoo is a complex operation that requires secure access points for faculty all around the facility. Each entry point is secured by a gate and hybrid cloud Verkada cameras. Gate access can be achieved using either through a pin code, operator access via camera recognition or via Bluetooth app. The flexibility of access allows the Zoo to control who goes where and ensure that staff and guests can access only where they need.
